This one-of-a-kind Larimar pendant is set in 14k gold filled wire. The piece is about 2 inches tall and measures 1.25 inches at it's widest point.
Larimar is a rare blue variation of pectolite, found only in the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean. The matrix sometimes seen within the stone (brown, red and green spots) are caused by the oxidation of iron and gives it a unique quality. Miguel Méndez, who named the stone, combined his daughter’s name “Larissa” with “Mar” the Spanish word for sea. It is said to promote relaxation, peace, and tranquility, as well as helping with clarity, in turn encouraging communication and stimulating the throat chakra.
